The Groups CSR strategy straddles across Education , Healthcare and Community building and Women empowerment. Here are a few efforts that exemplify their strong desire to give back to the society and nation for an inclusive growth:
Education is the most powerful tool that can change the world. Anchored in this sentiment
are the Group’s contributions towards the education of deserving students by way of
providing scholarships, donations, and facilities.
To facilitate access to quality education to children from the less privileged backgrounds
,Mr. Runwal has founded the Subhash Runwal Education Foundation that operates as a public
charitable trust. A slew of projects have been undertaken by the foundation over the last
few years .Chanda Subhash Runwal Educational Institute has been set up at Dhule to educate
girl students. The foundation extends scholarships to over 750 meritorious students each
year. It is also associated with the Jain Jagruti center to help students on a larger
platform, donating Rs 51 lakhs for scholarships for deserving students. Mr Subhash Runwal
has generously donated to students pursuing IAS, IPS, etc, and also to those choosing higher
education overseas.
Every year, the Group gives scholarships to over 150 students and to date, has reached more
than 500 students through Rs.5 crores. It is also a key contributor at UN Raisoni Vidyalaya
in Jalgaon, where more than 2000 children receive education every year.
The Group has built the R-Girls’ hostel , sprawled across 15,000 sqft in Thane in 2008,
which accommodates more than 120 girls. The R-Boys’ hostel, spread across 24,000 sqft, has
also been established at Nerul for 170 students with amenities such as wi-fi, gym, library,
indoor game room, etc in 2013. Both these hostels provide facilities at highly subsidized
rates and the Group ensures its smooth function and maintenance. They ensure that the Jain
way of simple living is instilled in the youth.
Along with JATF, a division of JITO, the Group assists students appearing for Civil Services
Exam through facilities such as boarding, lodging, coaching class fee, etc. Mr. Runwal is
Chairman of JATF and Scholarship for Empowering Education and Development (SEED) to enable
better education for the needy.
‘Without a sense of caring, there is no sense of community.’ For sustainable and holistic
community development, the group clearly recognizes that society’s economic competitiveness
is linked to its social health.
One to always enable his people and community, Mr. Runwal was President of Bharat Jain
Mahamandal. In his capacity as a leader and influencer, he helmed the celebration of Bhagwan
Mahavir Swamiji’s 2600th birthday. The occasion was graced by former Prime Minister Shri.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee as the Chief Guest. Also present were former Governor of Maharashtra,
Mr. Alexander and former CM, Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh.
Since 2006, it has been conducting the Shri. Sammedh Shikarji Yatras every year, which are

201-day fast for Tapasvi Samrat Sahajmuniji MS in Khar, Mumbai as Swagat Adhyaksha.
Mrs. Chanda Runwal, too, actively participates in the betterment of the community. Her firm
belief that women need to participate equitably in the economic progress has led her to
contribute immensely in the upliftment of women. She is the first President of the Jain
International Women’s Organisation (JIWO), where she empowers women in the Jain community,
and strives to make them independent. Further, she is active in the Jain Sakhi Manch, a

over 200 tricycles.

services especially for the poor and needy patients. The group has been providing preventive
and curative healthcare facilities to the underprivileged sections of the society.
Born and brought up in Dhule, Mr. Runwal has never forgotten his Janmabhumi. The Group

Dhule, to serve the people of the region along with Nandurbar and Jalgaon districts. The
vehicle is equipped with the most modern instruments and is manned by experienced doctors,
who conduct eye camps and perform surgeries at the nearest hospitals. Consecutively, 2 more

children and the elderly are specifically assisted to ensure that none of them become
victims of labor due to poor vision. Dhule Netra Chikitsalay tied up with Sharda Netra
Chikitsalay through Mahavir International to facilitate this campaign. The Runwal Group
donates Rs 5 lakh for the upkeep of this activity every year. Another Vision Vehicle was
donated to the Lions Club of Mumbai which is attached to Dr. Wavikar’s Hospital.
The Group has contributed significantly to the construction of a cancer hospital in
Amravati. Along with Akhil Bharatiya Marwadi Yuva Manch and Global Marwadi Charitable
